Piano Prize 2026Winner

Klara Vogel

Germany, piano

The prelude was grave and unhurried, and the fugue was built with an architect's sense of where the entries belonged. The subject stayed present in the inner voices even at speed, and the climax was held back until the final stretto, where it landed with real force. A performance that treated counterpoint as expression, not as arithmetic.
