The First Movement

String Prize 2022Winner

Camila Rossi

Argentina, violin

A performance built on the long line. The canonic writing in the finale was kept genuinely conversational, and she resisted the temptation to press the tempo whenever the piano took the theme. The intonation in the high entries stayed true at pianissimo, which is where this movement is usually won or lost.

The jury, Lucía Ferreyra, Petra Novotná, Tomás Miranda

César Franck, Sonata in A major for Violin and Piano, IV. Allegretto poco mosso
